Advertlets: Scheduled Maintenance Tonight

There will be a scheduled downtime and maintenance of our service tonight as our Data Center at Kuala Lumpur will be performing Power Maintenance.

- Date: 2008-07-04 Friday Night
- Time: 10:00pm ~ 12:00am
- Maintenance Window: 1-2 Hours

SERVICE IMPACT:
20 minutes of power downtime when diverting the commando plug at the rack level

MAINTENANCE DETAILS:
1. This maintenance is to improve and upgrade the Power Distribution Board capacity at First floor Data Centre.
2. The high load rack power source will be diverted to the new higher capacity Power Distribution Board.
3. Divert the single power supply equipment that currently connected to secondary source to main source.

The server will be shut down at 9:50pm on Friday night, and we will turn on and verify the site operation once the maintenance is finished. During that time, you may not be able to log into Advertlets, view the ads, or update your details. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

A Quick Q&A on the Advertlets Titan widget…

How will I place the widget on my blog?
The widget runs rotated across the Advertlets network in our Advertlets Ad Unit and for longer/fixed durations on Partner Blogs. We are planning to release a standalone version of the code very soon for those who wish the widget to run permanently on their blog.

What kind of content will run on the widget?
The widget will mostly feature Advertlets bloggers, but will also incorporate news on Advertlets Events, post event pics, gatherings, fun happenings, contest and more. In addition, sponsors can also have their content included in the widget as well!

What are future new features planned for the widget?
Future features include the ability to show more blogs and match blogs more specifically to viewer’s interest, as well as more ways to discover relevant new blogs. It’s going to be very interesting and we are planning for a rollout of even more features in weeks.

How do I get featured? What is the criteria?
Just write to us at info@advertlets.com with the subject “I wanna get it ON!”. Tell us why you should be featured, and we will set you up to be shown to thousands (maybe millions!).

Got some interesting posts you want more of an audience for? To get an idea…maybe you and your friends are going to perform in concert, or start a workout program, or you’re representing Malaysia internationally to compete in a pageant in a foreign country, or maybe you’ve launched a very nice new “hemsem” blog layout, or are running a contest of your own, or maybe you’ve written something really funny and original, or you’ve got exclusive coverage and great pics of a recent happening, or a project to raise funds for charity…anything different and anything interesting!

Blogger applications for being featured will be processed based on relevance and interestingness of blogs submitted, quality & originality of content, as well as the duration of your Advertlets Titan membership.

How much traffic can I expect to generate if I am featured?
As this is also based on how interesting your content/headline/image is, the results can vary due to visitor interest in clicking. However, a 25% to 200% increase per day (yes, really!) is not uncommon based on our short beta test so far.

Blogger’s Tea Party @ Bangsar Village Fest this weekend! 21 June 2008

Hi Bloggers! In conjunction with The Village Fest @ Bangsar Village happening this weekend, on the 21st and 22nd June 2008, we are having a Blogger’s Tea Party! The Village Fest is a two day festival with music, dance, yoga, talks, food & more!

Here are the details:

“Blogger’s Tea Party @ Bangsar Village Fest”
Time & Date: 21 June 2008, 3PM
Venue: Bangsar Village II, 3rd Floor
List: Limited to selected 100 bloggers only (Advertlets Titan members get priority)
Menu: Food from D’lish! Finger food, cupcakes, sandwiches, drinks & more!
Itenary: Tea time with fellow bloggers, camwhoring session, followed by adjourning to check out the rest of the activities at Bangsar Village! There will be goodies for early/lucky ones.

What can you do at the Village Fest?

You can: get a face reading, or a palm reading, attend a free Yoga Session (from either Dr Saumiakumar of the Ayur Centre, Yoga2Health, or Celebrity Fitness. Or you could get a manicure or pedicure, and basically pamper yourself to some grooming and relaxation!

There are also jamming sessions, health tests, and even line dancing. There will also be a selection of interesting products including environmentally friendly wares, including “personal chopsticks”, energy saving bulbs and interesting stuff made from recyclables.

For those with kids, there are craftwork activities, kid’s yoga, a music jamming session using everyday household items (yes, pots & pans, etc…), and also a story telling session. Then while your kids are busy having fun, you can take part in line dancing, and feng shui exhibits.
