Putting the ‘bling’ in ‘blogging’

Advertlets: Singapore, We Have A Problem (But Its A Good One!)

Right now, 100% of all Singaporean blogs registered with Advertlets who have the 165×240 ad formats are running a CPM campaign! This is a big step for us - being able to serve EVERYONE within our network who have signed up with us for advertising opportunities, and definitely a challenge that we’ve risen up to, compared to the competing providers. We’re pretty excited, and quite sure that you’ll appreciate it too. :)

As you might have noticed, the network wide ad for Singapore (and Japan) is for our client, emusic.com - our advertiser that supports true indie music from artists of the like of Johnny Cash, Bloc Party, Ray Charles, Dashboard Confessional, John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis, Spoon, The New Pornographers and Interpol. Like indie rock? You can support your favourite artists directly though emusic.com - check out what emusic.com is about here, or check out how you can get 25 free music downloads here.

Anyway, here’s the Good Problem : we have more clients interested in advertising on the Singaporean network, however - we’ve close to sold out most of our inventory!

As of such…we need your help to make the network even bigger, through installing more ad formats. Most of our Singaporean Bloggers have the 165×240 Sidebar ad installed, but not all have the 336×280 Rectangle ad format.

Just a placement tip: The 336×280 Rectangle ad format works best if placed in between blog posts on your main blog, or at the comments section at the end of an individual post. If you have international traffic (besides Malaysia & Singapore), you may also want to consider installing the 468×60 format.

Very Limited Time Sponsored Post Opportunity For Singaporeans (Be Kiasu And Hurry!)

The first 100 Singaporean bloggers who write a post to encourage people to sign up with Advertlets (if they haven’t already) and install the 336×280 ad format, will get SGD15 each.

Terms: As long as you are a registered Singaporean member of Advertlets, and have above 20 unique visitors a day, you qualify for this sponsored post opportunity. Make sure the posting is at least 100 words long and includes a link to www.advertlets.com, as well as at least one image (eg, the Advertlets logo, or you might want to show the Get Code screenshot to instruct readers on how to install the ad format). When you’re done, leave a comment on this post so we can approve your posting and credit your account.

Mini Contest: The 5 best posts out of this 100 will get the special amount of SGD50 instead of SGD15 :)

Update: Thanks for the good response, although its over the weekend! Oh, and its good to share: you may also want to tell your friends that they can take part in the posting opportunity, direct them to this post. Cheers.

Ad Display System Upgrade In Progress - So Everyone Can Advertise!

We are currently upgrading our ad display system to implement new features, and cope with increased load, especially from international traffic. As of such, some of you might face error messages or certain ads not displaying properly.

Here’s what’s interesting: The main point of this upgrade is the new “daily limits” system, that will enable advertisers to distribute their budget across a period of time. So, even if you’re an advertiser with a small budget of RM500 / USD149, you can run a cost per click campaign that distributes your budget across a month, for instance. Your ad will be run rotated with other ads, targeted by geolocation and demographics.

Just like how we aim to enable all bloggers to make some money through blogging, now we aim to let advertisers of all budgets advertise on Advertlets. This is a very important step in our development as a blog advertising network, and we will appreciate your help to squash bugs while we are still in beta. Very soon, you will see a lot more advertisers as more people take advantage of this new feature for our valued advertisers…and ultimately, more advertisers means more money+happy for more bloggers.

We need your help though, to make this happen: If you find any bugs or error messages, do e-mail us with a screenshot to info@advertlets.com. Your valuable assistance is much appreciated while we upgrade our system to serve you better.

A Note to Blogger.com/Blogspot.com Users

We received a few questions lately wondering why you get “Domain does not match” or “No User ID” errors when pasting your Advertlets Ad Code into Blogger/Blogspot. The problem is not caused by your code, but by the “Compose” option that automatically formats text as it is pasted in.

When the system attempts to automatically format the code, it will add extra formatting tags (like extra spaces or line breaks), and cause errors with the code. Please use the “Edit HTML” mode when pasting in your Advertlets code, or else it will not work properly. Refer to the diagram below for more details:

Belajar HTML Bersama Advertlets: Inserting Advertlets Code in Blogger/Blogspot

Also, when you input your blog URL into the Advertlets Blog Manager or when you sign up, please omit the “www” if it is a subdomain already. For example, if your site is http://example.blogspot.com, please put in http://example.blogspot.com, not http://www.example.blogspot.com

Thanks, and we hope that this clears things up for our Blogger.com/Blogspot.com Users!!

New Feature: Advertlets Poll Only Code

Some of you have requested a version of the widget which ONLY displays the demographics poll, with no ads so that you can accumulate demographics about your blog faster. We’re happy to note that this is now available. Just log into your Advertlets account, click the “Blogs” tab, and choose the code for Sidebar Polls Only (No Ads).

Just so you know, demographic poll submissions are not compulsory, but help us match you better with advertisers based on the audience of your blog. You can read more here on the Advertlets Support KnowledgeBase - Blog Demographics & Statistics

5 Things To Know For Today (3:25 AM, 31 May 2007)

1. If you are thinking which of the Advertlets ad formats to install first, we recommend the Sidebar (165×240) and the Rectangle (336×280) one. Reason being we are currently running the DiGi Fu-Yoh! Street Blast ads network wide for on the Sidebar and Rectangle format - targeted to East Malaysians. That means even if you’re not from East Malaysia (or even from Malaysia), your blog shows relevant ads to your East Malaysian blog visitors, which of course results in you earning :)

2. Please use the Advertlets Support system - we will be able to respond to you much faster than through conventional e-mail. The KnowledgeBase will help you with the most frequently asked questions. We will endeavour to add new questions and answers as often as possible. If you still can’t find an answer to your question, do Submit a Ticket with your questions and feedback, and either me (Josh), Nabil or Ovidia will be able to answer you personally.

3. An astounding 108 members signed up yesterday. Whee! :)
