Discover the next Malaysian Superstar at Muzikini Audition

 

A bathroom singer? Have always dreamt of becoming a superstar? Why dream when you can live it?  UNIVERSAL MUSIC and SONY MUSIC launched a major music initiative to discover the next Malaysian Music Sensation, with a year-long nationwide talent search called MUZIKINI Audition.

The MUZIKINI Audition series of showcases will be held from June to December 2012 in conjunction with AEON Festival at

  • AEON Ipoh Station 18 Shopping Centre 2 & 3 June
  • AEON AU2, Setiawangsa Shopping Centre 16 & 17 June
  • AEON Rawang Shopping Centre 14 & 15 July
  • AEON Alpha Angle Shopping Centre 8 & 9 September
  • AEON Cheras Selatan Shopping Centre 13 & 14 October
  • AEON Bandaraya Melaka Shopping Centre 24 & 25 November
  • AEON Tebrau City Shopping Centre 15 & 16 December

At the Press Conference, Loan Cheong, General Manager of Universal Music said, “MUZIKINI Audition is our latest effort and commitment towards developing Malaysian music and artistes. In partnership with AEON Malaysia, we are able to take our search for the next Malaysian Superstar to the grassroots and determine how our local talents perform in front of a live audience comprising of Malaysian of all ages, race and gender. We would like to call out to all aspiring singers, bands and soloists, to register at the MUZIKINI Facebook page and book a spot for the audition in their city.”

A total of 20 spots will be reserved at each of the seven venues for Bands and Soloist to showcase their talent or original material. At each MUZIKINI Audition venue, a Cash prize of RM3,000 for Band, and RM1,500 for Soloist will be awarded to the highest scoring performer of the category. In addition, MUZIKINI will record a single by each winner, a total of 14 songs, and compile them into an album that will be distributed by Universal Music in January 2013.

The judging of MUZIKINI Audition will be conducted by representatives from Universal Music, Sony Music and MUZIKINI, comprising of Senior Artistes & Repertoire Professionals and veteran music industry leaders. Performers will be awarded scores for Musicianship (30pts), Voice Talent (30pts) and Stage Performance (40pts).

At the press conference, Adrian Lim, Managing Director of Sony Music said, “Sony Music has a rich tradition and deep commitment in discovering and promoting new Talents, from American Idol Kelly Clarkson to Malaysian Idol Daniel Lee. One of the real rewards of working in the music industry is the chance to take a spanking new artiste and develop them into Superstars and establish a fan base. We have done this with Misha Omar and I am looking forward to discovering a new gem at MUZIKINI Audition”

The MUZIKIN Audition marks the first time that Universal Music and Sony Music have collaborated to conduct a major nationwide Malaysian Talent Search to discover new Bands and Singers.

As part of the AEON Festival, MUZIKINI Audition participants will be performing on the same stage with Malaysian’s top artistes such as Spider, 6ixth Sense, Faizal Tahir, Meet Uncle Hussain, Alyah, Bunkface, Dayang, Ning Baizura, Black,  Shiha, Ayu, Amir Jahari, Jinbara, Awan Band, Amanda Imani, One Nation MC, and Oh Chentaku.

Appearing at the press conference to lend their support for Malaysian Music and the MUZIKINI Auditions were local artistes.

Picture Perfect 10 Challenge!

  4. Take a picture of yourself at Zest Restaurant with at least one Zest staff.
  5. Take a picture of yourself with your favorite piece of art painting at the Hotel.
  6. Take a picture of yourself at KiddiesWorld – You must pose like a kid in this picture.
  7. Take a picture of yourself in your favorite section of our Hotel’s Main Lobby.
  8. Take a picture of yourself and a tour bus coach outside the hotel.
  9. Take a picture of yourself with a background view of Putrajaya Marriott Hotel.
  10. Take a picture of yourself with a background view of the golf course.

Some Interesting Tips to Stand Out & Gain Likes:

  1. Show both palms faced out, signifying our Hotel’s 10th Year Anniversary
  2. Attempt to form the number “10″ using just your body.
  3. Put up a signboard that says “I love Marriott Putrajaya!”
  4. Act like a robot.
  5. Strike a “golf swing” pose
  6. Attempt to jump up while the shot is taken.
  7. Dress yourself up to look REALLY NERDY.
    (i.e. pants above the belly, big-frame eyeglasses)

Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility
i – Picture Perfect 10 Challenge is open to all Putrajaya Marriott Facebook Fans residing in Malaysia, except for the employees and officers of Putrajaya Marriott and their A&P agency, and their immediate family members.
ii – Contestants under the age of eighteen (18) must seek parental and/or guardian approval to participate. The Organizer will assume the Contestants under the age of eighteen had parental’s/guardian’s approval upon submission of any entry.

2. Contest Period
i – The contest begins on 5th May, 2012 and ends on 3rd June (Sunday) 11:59pm..
ii – All submissions is to be by 11.59 p.m. of 3rd June (Sunday) (“Closing Date”).
iii – Entries received after the Closing Date will not be taken into consideration.

3. How to Participate
i – Contestants are required to take up the challenges based on the Picture Perfect 10 Challenge and submit their entries by pasting up their pictures on their wall and tagging Putrajaya Marriott with a caption. They are then to send the link of their wall post toperfect10@marriottputrajaya.com
ii – Putrajaya Marriott is not responsible for incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete entry of information by contestants; lost entries, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections; scrambled transmissions or other errors or problems of any kind whether mechanical, human, or electronic, technical malfunctions or computer hardware, software or any combination thereof; or problems associated with any virus or any other damage caused to contestants’ systems.
iii – Putrajaya Marriott reserves the right to reject the participation of any contestant at any time and remove any entry without having to assign any reasons whatsoever.

4. Judging Criteria
i – Winners will be judged based on Likes attained, however Likes attained might not be the sole consideration. Other possible considerations might be on the creativity of participants such as video entry, wittiness, dress ups and so forth.
ii – The judges’ decision is final and no appeal or correspondence in connection therewith will be entertained.
iii – Any suspicious entries can be ignored or barred from future participations without the need for the Organizer of any valid/reasonable reasons.

5. Winners and Prizes
i – The winners of the Contest will be notified by messages and announced in the following websites (the “Announcement Date”): www.facebook.com/PutrajayaMarriott
ii – All winners announced on the Announcement Date (the “Original Winners”) must contact Putrajaya Marriott within five (5) days from the Announcement Date. Failing which, Putrajaya Marriott shall have the sole and absolute discretion to substitute that winner without prior notice and without any liabilities to the Original Winner.
iii – Putrajaya Marriott reserves the right to substitute, change, amend or modify any prizes with other prizes of approximately equivalent monetary value at its sole and absolute discretion without prior notice and without having to assign any reasons therefore. Any appeal in connection with Putrajaya Marriott’s decision to substitute any of the prizes will not be entertained.
iv – The winners shall always accept the prizes subject to the terms and conditions that may be imposed by Putrajaya Marriott, including but not limited to the ancillary expenses required for the winners to be the owner of the prizes, including any travel expenses not specifically provided for.
v – All prizes are not transferable and/or exchangeable for cash.
vi – Putrajaya Marriott makes no representations or warranties to the safety, suitability or merchantability of the prizes and shall not be responsible or liable in the event any of the prizes are not fit for its purpose, not of merchantability quality or if the winners suffer any losses or damages in furtherance to the usage or enjoyment of the prizes.
vii – All prizes must collect by the winners, Putrajaya Marriott are not going to bear the courier fees.
viii – Each contestant is entitled to win only one prize.
ix – The selection is final and binding. No correspondences shall be entertained. The organizer reserves the rights to reject any registration and/or entry at its sole and absolute discretion without having to assign any reasons whatsoever.
x – Winners shall assist Putrajaya marriott in broadcasting the events as well as the winning activities via channels chosen by the company.

6. General
i – This Contest is subject to all applicable state, local laws and regulations.

Friday the 13th of April with Ed Sheeran @The Bee Publika

A blissful afternoon, cloudy day, what could be better than heading for an Ed Sheeran’s Album. His album that went tripple platinum broke even Adele’s number in sales in the UK.

His fresh gentle yet affirmative voice runs along the radiostations and personal mp3′s of young and old alike. The album which is named “+” has gone widespread and has reached Malaysia’s shores with a great welcome. Just when you think music was all about boy bands and electronics, here’s a ray of hope that not all acoustic raw music is dead and gone. In an all changing world of of people trying to keep up with the trends and high society ; a lot of realism and uniques fades away in the distance. Not to say that Ed isn’t up to trend or anything but perhaps one does not need such frivolous vanities when one knows who he/she really is.

So on to the days events,

Then, later on the event ended with a game.We were all split into groups to make the most artistic and out of the box Lego house in Ed’s famous hit “Lego house” with Rupert Grint. With much team effort and creative thinking below are some pictures of the houses that we made. The team with the most creative house which happened to be the house shaped in an “A” won. Their prize being some gift vouchers from Isetan.

Mothers Day with Dutch Lady!

Dutch lady is running a campaign!

Dutch Lady Malaysia’s Get Smart, Get Famous Campaign will end on a high note this coming Saturday when

the three winning Smart Stories – accounts of smartness as performed by the toddlers – will be revealed at the Grand Finale, held at Piazza@The Curve, Mutiara Damansara.

 

The three toddlers, chosen by a nationwide vote by members of the public will be featured on packs of Dutch Lady Growing Up Milk for a limited period come August 2012. They also received RM50,000 scholarships each.

The campaign, which started in December 2011, saw thousands of entries from mothers nationwide. Following that, the ten chosen mothers and their toddlers were engaged in a whirlwind of activities, ranging from photo shoots and interviews to appearing in print and TV commercials as well as on Nona, TV3 to promote the Smart Stories of their children.

 

The second phase of the Get Smart, Get Famous Campaign kicked off earlier this year when the public was invited to vote for their favourite Smart Stories, through the purchase of certain Dutch Lady infant formula, with the added attraction of daily attractive prizes for those who voted.

 

Apart from daily prizes of three iPad2s, the three Grand Prize Winners of the voters’ contest will walk away with a Smart Home Makeover, a  scholarship and a Ford Fiesta 1.6L Sport Ti-VCT Automatic, all valued at RM80,000 each.

 

One of these cute kids will be featured on Dutch Lady 1kg Growing Up Milk packs in August 2012! So, what are you going to do for Mother’s Day?

First off, Mother’s Day is the second Sunday of May – 13th May in case some of you have forgotten :) Interesting trivia – Malaysia celebrates Mother’s Day the same day as Australia, China, New Zealand, the United States and more, but people in Ireland, Nigeria and the United Kingdom celebrate it on the fourth Sunday of Lent (Either April 3/March 18, or March 10th)

So are you looking for a way to give back to the those ladies who have given us so much? Along from those small things such as gifts, quality time, and words of affirmation. There is so much more we can do to actually show appreciation to those who have gone before us. So without further a do, here is a little something that Unicef has set up to pay tribute to mothers for their timeless contributions and love towards raising their little ones.
