Advertlets Celebrates Its 3rd Anniversary!
Dear bloggers, clients & friends,
We’ve come a long way since we first started on 9th March 2007, and today marks our 3rd anniversary! I’m writing this at 9:30PM because we had meetings all day
In terms of the reach of our blog advertising network, today, Advertlets reaches over 400,000 unique visitors a day in Malaysia through over thousands of blogs. In terms of unique visitor reach, this puts us on par (if not exceeding) with the top 10 web destinations in Malaysia. Someone once told me shortly after we started, that with all the competition in the blog advertising scene, we’ll need to shut down within 6 months. Well, today marks our 3rd year in existence!
We’ve got plenty of reason to doubt the doubters. Over the past few months, we’ve had the opportunity to do repeat business with our loyal clients, as well as secure campaigns from clients that used to advertise with our competition. The sales team is reporting exciting new campaigns every month, and just so you know, in December 2009, we broke our Advertlets ad sales record, and it shows no sign of stopping.
As the founder of Advertlets, I remember when we first started and clients were cautious about spending online, what more on blogs. I’m happy to say that from the first year when we started, till now, client budgets have increased tremendously, and is quite close to budgets used for established mediums such as radio and magazines. And although online advertising (with blog advertising being a mere part of it) only consists of less than 1% of total advertising expenditure in Malaysia, it is already a million dollar industry.
I would especially like to thank the bloggers that have been with us over the past years, as well as the Advertlets team, particularly Rebecca Saw and Hanie Hidayah – female bloggers extraordinaire and the ones that make sure that Advertlets events, sponsored posts & more are running smoothly.
We recently celebrated our third anniversary by sponsoring Digital Wednesday – an event for the digital media industry. Attending the event, were various media agencies and clients, including those that have contributed so far to Advertlets and its bloggers. And of course, Advertlets staff as well as a few of our bloggers, including blogger celebrities Belinda Chee and Andrea Fonseka! Here’s some pictures of the event:

On the campaign side of things, recent Advertlets campaigns just over the past 3 months have included prominent clients such as Nokia, RHB Bank, Digi, Revive Isotonic, Adobe, Streamyx, Petrosains, Taylor’s College. Most recently, we’ve just confirmed campaigns for Biotherm as well as Canon.
Events have also been a big part of what we do – over the past few months, bloggers got to go waterskiing at Putrajaya thanks to Alamanda Putrajaya, watch Alice In Wonderland early thanks to Disney, and got to Rev-Up at Euphoria MOS with Revive Isotonic in addition to other smaller scale events where bloggers get together for food, fun & camwhoring.

It is with great pleasure that I also announce that Advertlets is now officially the online partner for two large scale events – one to promote beauty and Malaysia in the eyes of the world and one to promote the cause of literacy and raising funds for charity.
