Swedish & Malaysian Indie Pop Concert Tomorrow!
Hello to all Advertlets members, this is Vanes Ching, one of the staff in Advertlets. Other than my day job doing design, I love music and live performance as I’ve started to be active in the local indie music scene, and having my own band “Dian Bang” as vocalist. (PS: Check us out on Myspace too).
I’m so glad that Advertlets are supporting this “Club 8 and Pelle live in Kuala Lumpur” concert organized by our local music label Soundscape Records. If you’re wondering how their song sounds like,it’s a warm, tender-hearted acoustic pop record, one that emotes through simplicity and gut-punching melodic turns rather than stagy histrionics. If you like The Cardigans, Saint Etienne, Jem, or Belle & Sebastian, this is your kind of thing!
Some people might be asking this, so here goes: First of all, Club 8 has NOTHING TO DO WITH S CLUB 7 AT ALL. PLEASE LA.
Club 8’s & Pelle’s music do makes me feel relaxing and make my emotional sense flying high on the air~ hahaa. Besides Swedish bands, we won’t forget about our local bands as well. Supporting Acts by Couple & Ferns, were named as one of the top 25 bands on Myspace by Rolling Stone Magazine. Yeahh….telling you they’re that good. You can preview tracks by Club 8 & Pelle at a special site Advertlets has set up for this event, www.advertlets.com/labrador. Labrador’s the name of the Swedish label both artistes are signed to.
I think it’s very rarely to have indle bands from Europe all the way to Asia and touring especially in KL. (You know what kind of concert we can normally have right?) And sure you know the ticket price is owe so affordable to not some people. Well, this concert is just gonna cost you only RM35 (Door sale just RM50 only) HK tour ticket price is x10 than RM35 and Singapore tour ticket price is double than this price! As you’re wondering why is it the ticket is so cheap?? Thanks to the organizer Mark from Soundscape Records, we just hoping to bring up the indie scenes, to spread the good music to wider audience and let more people to experience quality music that doesn’t need to spend much. There’s much more to music than what you can hear from the radio.
Well, what else can i say more about it? Be there, meet us, say hi to us, cause Advertlets is gonna be there too.And so, Advertlets is also giving away 5 pairs of tickets for you to attent this concert featuring both Swedish & Malaysian acts. What you need to do is just to write a blog post on this, and tickets is yours baby~!!! Be the first 5 blogger to do so, and please email us your blog posting to info@advertlets.com. A new year should begins with a great concert, and this is really gonna be a Poppy hoppy lovey happy Swedishy nite for sure~!!! Hoping to see you there, this friday nite~!!!
Meet the Advertlets Bloggerina, Kim Ong!
Years ago, I met someone. He did look like an intellectual person, behind the spectacles and the seriousness he had wanted to portray. I did wonder if he was a businessman of some sort, clad in the Chinese outfit. I only had less than a minute to guess. I’m talking about Josh, founder of Advertlets.com. Soon after, he revealed he was a web designer and much later, I found out he isn’t as old as I thought he was! Anyway, the age thing is no longer a secret. If you don’t already know, continue to guess. A new friendship is like an unripened fruit, it may become either an orange or a lemon. Such is my friendship with Josh. Our five years of friendship since 2003 had been strengthened to a point where mutual trust has been established. I’ve had no doubts in Josh’s abilities. We have had our ups and downs and fair share of arguments, but for some reason there was some kind of faith towards one another.
To be honest, I’m no tech-junkie myself but how could I relate to Josh? To some extent, maybe we help boost each other’s creativity in work, plus he’s taught me alot about the technology industry. If there was a scale of a level of tech-junkie, it would be this: Beginner, Elementary and Advanced. I fall within the “Elementary” category. I wouldn’t say I’m a beginner either, after 5 years of being a blogger, previously on xanga using the nickname “kimfluttersby” and now on my own dot com. I’ve been on the internet long enough to know what’s happening around me. As for my blogging style? Simple enough to relate to readers with the intention to keep my readers happy and because of this, I love sharing.
“The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but to reveal to him, his own.” - Benjamin Disraeli
As an average blogger myself, I recently learned about the potential of making money on my blog, last year. “Post up pictures, ensure a decent kind of standard in my writing with substance, ensure a consistent readership and voila, I’m ready to go with Advertlets.” Those are the main criteria for being part of Advertlets and you can place an ad almost immediately on your blog. I realised the potential in Advertlets in wanting to help Bloggers and Advertisers. Equal opportunity seems to be Advertlets’ core focus.
There are tons of bloggers in Malaysia; prominent ones with traffic of 5-figure uniques on a daily basis, some with lower traffic but with loyal visitors and commentators, and even some aspiring ones, some just started, and well, some are reading this wondering what Advertlets is all about. Because of this, I do feel part of the blogging community and this is important for new bloggers entering the blog arena. With the user-friendly interface on Advertlets.com, steps to install codes aren’t difficult at all. It’s fun, and there’s money to make!
The future of blogging is promising and the best part is that Advertlets moves with trend, forward, together with you. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Advertlets! But rest assured, I will know before you (muahaha)…and be ready to help you out with new features & more as they come.
In the day, I work in Marketing and Advertising. Come night, I become the Advertlets Bloggerina! *turns on superhero song – you decide*! My position in Advertlets as an Advertlets Bloggerina (Ambassador sounded too government like, haha) will be to assist in blogger relations so do not hesitate to contact me at kim.ong@advertlets.com to ask me 101 questions. Let me know if you have any problems installing codes, any questions, suggestions, or great ideas for our next gathering I will try my very best to respond.
Blog Advertising Gets More Muhibbah: BM and Chinese Language Blogs Wanted!
Salam sejahtera and ta jia hao! We have a new major ad campaign for Malaysia, with a twist: This won’t be in English!
While it’s true that the majority of Malaysia’s blogging “scene” is in the Klang Valley and in English, but we’ve always been pleasantly surprised at community and people as a whole that make up the Malaysian blogging scene. Advertlets has always recognized the diversity of the Malaysian blogosphere, which is why we were happy to sponsor such as Rumpun (a gathering for Malay language bloggers), as well as Mybloggercon 1027 (a gathering for Chinese language bloggers) and of course, not forgetting our East Malaysian friends in Kuching and Miri.
So we’re especially happy and excited to announce that we have a new ad campaign that wishes to target blog readers of Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese language blogs! If your blog is in BM or Chinese, please drop us your URL here for consideration to be included in this campaign.
Note: Due to the specific nature of the campaign, this will be exclusively on a CPM basis - meaning, you will earn from traffic to your blog while the campaign is running. If yours is a Chinese/BM blog, you can expect this to be one of the most lucrative ads for your blog so far.
And in “Hua Yu”: 致全体Advertlets的中文博客们,即将到来的几天内将会有新的广告商与Advertlets合作,并以中文为宣传媒介语。若您有兴趣加入这项宣传计划,请留言让我们知道吧。希望得到各位的回应,谢谢。
Oh, and of course, some of you may be wondering, who’s the advertiser? It’ll be revealed in the next few days, but here’s a hint: Got X?
Lastly: 希望大家以愉快的心情继续与Advertlets一起经营您的部落格。Terima kasih, dan semoga selalu gembira menulis blog bersama Advertlets!
Update: Chinese blogs MyBloggerCon and ,a href=”http://www.92088.net/?p=600″>92088.net have written about this too! Thanks for spreading the word!

The amount will be calculated at the end of January, and credited within the first week of February. Members who have been with Advertlets longer will get reimbursed to the higher ratio of 20%. To make sure you earn optimally, make sure that you install at least 2-3 Advertlets Ad units on your blog! Advertlets Back On, New Campaigns Coming
Hi, just a quick note to all that the DNS has succesfully resolved and we are fully back on. It’ll be a good time to install back your ad code today, as we have new ads coming within the next 1-3 days. And, the compensative plan will be announced next week, Monday.
Also, a note to all Advertlets registered members - we recently sent out an e-mail, and quite a few e-mails could not be contacted. If you have not received a response to an enquiry sent to the Advertlets team, do make sure your mailbox is not full, especially if you have a payment due. We will need to get in touch with you to verify your address details.
Also, if you have registered recently with Advertlets, if you don’t get the verification mail, do check your bulk mail folder just in case. Alternatively, you may want to make sure you typed in the right e-mail address: we noticed some “gmial.com” and “htomil.com” addresses, and do be certain if your e-mail address ends with a .com or com.sg too. More updates later today, cheers.
