Putting the ‘bling’ in ‘blogging’

Advertlets: Singapore, We Have A Problem (But Its A Good One!)

Right now, 100% of all Singaporean blogs registered with Advertlets who have the 165×240 ad formats are running a CPM campaign! This is a big step for us – being able to serve EVERYONE within our network who have signed up with us for advertising opportunities, and definitely a challenge that we’ve risen up to, compared to the competing providers. We’re pretty excited, and quite sure that you’ll appreciate it too. :)

As you might have noticed, the network wide ad for Singapore (and Japan) is for our client, emusic.com – our advertiser that supports true indie music from artists of the like of Johnny Cash, Bloc Party, Ray Charles, Dashboard Confessional, John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis, Spoon, The New Pornographers and Interpol. Like indie rock? You can support your favourite artists directly though emusic.com – check out what emusic.com is about here, or check out how you can get 25 free music downloads here.

Anyway, here’s the Good Problem : we have more clients interested in advertising on the Singaporean network, however – we’ve close to sold out most of our inventory!

As of such…we need your help to make the network even bigger, through installing more ad formats. Most of our Singaporean Bloggers have the 165×240 Sidebar ad installed, but not all have the 336×280 Rectangle ad format.

Just a placement tip: The 336×280 Rectangle ad format works best if placed in between blog posts on your main blog, or at the comments section at the end of an individual post. If you have international traffic (besides Malaysia & Singapore), you may also want to consider installing the 468×60 format.

Very Limited Time Sponsored Post Opportunity For Singaporeans (Be Kiasu And Hurry!)

The first 100 Singaporean bloggers who write a post to encourage people to sign up with Advertlets (if they haven’t already) and install the 336×280 ad format, will get SGD15 each.

Terms: As long as you are a registered Singaporean member of Advertlets, and have above 20 unique visitors a day, you qualify for this sponsored post opportunity. Make sure the posting is at least 100 words long and includes a link to www.advertlets.com, as well as at least one image (eg, the Advertlets logo, or you might want to show the Get Code screenshot to instruct readers on how to install the ad format). When you’re done, leave a comment on this post so we can approve your posting and credit your account.

Mini Contest: The 5 best posts out of this 100 will get the special amount of SGD50 instead of SGD15 :)

Update: Thanks for the good response, although its over the weekend! Oh, and its good to share: you may also want to tell your friends that they can take part in the posting opportunity, direct them to this post. Cheers.

Happy Birthday Sharon Lim! You Very Pretty!

Sharon Lim!

Tech & Gadget Blogs Wanted (Malaysia)

A new client is looking into relevant tech and gadget blogs for a special Christmas promotion on Digital Cameras, Camcorders & Mp3 players, with attractive discounts of 30-50% (even includes free gift wrapping and postage if you wish to gift it!) Let us know if you think you fit the criteria for this campaign, just drop us your blog URL.

Let us know too if you want to send us any presents… :)

Scheduled Upgrade Complete

The upgrade is now fully complete, starting from 9PM yesterday, and thankfully we didn’t have more than 30 minutes of downtime. Its 2:43AM! Our tech team just came back from the datacentre an hour and a half ago, and now, double-checking from home, we’re happy to say that all Advertlets functions are back online. You should be feeling that ads load much faster now, as well as your Advertlets account login and this website. Let us know if you face any issues, cheers!

Scheduled Downtime Tonight For Server Upgrade

We will be undergoing a major upgrade to our servers tonight, due to increased international traffic and a sharp increase in the number of blogger signups. As of such, during the period of 9PM-10PM tonight, you may face some downtime/errors in ad serving and this website. After that, Advertlets should be faster than ever before. Please let us know if you face any issues after this time period. Cheers! :)

September Cashout Requests / Click Fraud & New Tricks

Firstly, let us say that we have been listening, and this is our response. In some cases, we have responded personally on certain blogs, however we feel that a more public explanation would be beneficial, and justified to our valued bloggers.

In Short: The Resolution
- September 2007 Cash outs will arrive to both Malaysian & Singaporean publishers within 1-2 weeks. Yes, we are aware that this is longer than usual, and we apologize. A detailed explanation is after the jump.

- Ad load time could be improved. A recent increase in the number of members and more visitors from countries other than Malaysia and Singapore has put a considerable strain on our servers. Although we are now already running on three dedicated servers, we will be upgrading our resources further to serve your better. An upgrade will be in effect within this week, with approximately 15-30 minutes of downtime required. This scheduled maintenance window will be announced shortly.

Advertlets: Japan and Australia Traffic Needed for Campaign

Arigato and G’day! Just a post right after our network wide CPM ads for all for Singapore, We’re pretty happy to announce the following… :)

- Network wide CPM ads for traffic from Japan (1 week) 165×240 Sidebar
- Network wide CPM ads for traffic from Australia (1 month) 468×60 Banner

Network wide ads for a country means no matter where you are based physically, you will earn from blog visitors for that country. As most of you might realize, the internet is global – and while your blog may appeal to mostly those in your home country, foreign visitors will be interested as well. Aggregated throughout all our blogs, currently we do have a significant amount of Japan and Australia web traffic, but we are looking to increase this further.

Those that will benefit the most from this campaign will be those who get a mix of traffic from these two countries, and also from the two countries we are most active in currently – Malaysia and Singapore. What kind of blogs would get this kind of mixed traffic?

From our observations, we would recommend the following type of blogs join:
- Blogs from enthusiasts of J-Pop, Japanese Movies and Anime Blogs
- Blogs of students studying in Australia. (A lot of Malaysian students go to Australia to study apparently)
- English language blogs on topics relevant to Japanese/Australian social life and culture

Campaigns will start in less than a week from now. So, do encourage a friend who you feel will fit the criteria to join. Do make sure that you have the 165×240 Sidebar and 468×60 Banner installed. Cheers!
