A Note to Blogger.com/Blogspot.com Users

We received a few questions lately wondering why you get “Domain does not match” or “No User ID” errors when pasting your Advertlets Ad Code into Blogger/Blogspot. The problem is not caused by your code, but by the “Compose” option that automatically formats text as it is pasted in.

When the system attempts to automatically format the code, it will add extra formatting tags (like extra spaces or line breaks), and cause errors with the code. Please use the “Edit HTML” mode when pasting in your Advertlets code, or else it will not work properly. Refer to the diagram below for more details:

Also, when you input your blog URL into the Advertlets Blog Manager or when you sign up, please omit the “www” if it is a subdomain already. For example, if your site is http://example.blogspot.com, please put in http://example.blogspot.com, not http://www.example.blogspot.com

We Made The News! CatsCity Clique in Berita Petang Sarawak!

This post should have been out sooner, but there’s been a lot to do since I’ve been back. Anyway, as per the title: Kuching rocked! I can’t wait to go there again Thanks for taking me around, helping me find a hotel, for coffee, for dinner, bowling, driving around Kuching late at night and everything! It was my first trip to East Malaysia, and hopefully the first of many more! Hope you had as much fun as I did. Thanks especially to Starbucks Coffee also for sponsoring the gathering and organizing the logistics! (I owe you a coffee, Jone - though I understand if you want something else, haha.). And of course to Irene and Jimmy, who did a great job planning and putting the event together! CatsCity Clique 2007 sponsored by Advertlets was a success, thanks to all of you who showed up too. I had a great time meeting each and every one of you, and I hope to be able to stay longer the next time, and find out more about the other side of Malaysia more. Next stop…Sabah perhaps?

Kuching Here I Come! / Catscity Clique Gather Bloggering…

The gathering poster is printed, the badges are ready, and so are the wristbands. More than 50 people have already registered for the gathering, and we expect quite a few more to show up. See Catscity.net for a full list.

All I have to do now is hop on the plane VERY early tomorrow morning (7AM) and arrive at the airport. Given that the gathering is in the airport itself, I’ll probably stay there until 2PM when the gathering starts. Unfortunately, I’m arriving at 9AM…

This leaves me with er…5 hours with nothing to do but wander around the airport. Anyone wanna do breakfast or lunch prior to the gathering, let me know! +6012-3119141. As an added incentive to you, I’ll buy breakfast/lunch/dinner for the first 5 people to poke me (not too hard, please).

This will be my first time to East Malaysia, but unfortunately I’ll be staying one day only, in the morning the day after, I will be in Singapore for a day trip, then after that, back to Malaysia on Saturday night itself. For this time it’ll just be me coming over, the rest of the Advertlets team is going to stay back to work over the weekend on to finish up some upgrades to Advertlets (the more astute ones will notice a change in our ad serving url) as well as monitor support requests and click quality.

Looking forward to meeting all you Kuching-ites at the CatsCity Clique Gather Bloggering (because a ‘gather bloggering’ is more fun than a ‘blogger gathering’)! PS: I’m bringing a video camera to the Catscity Clique event. Look sharp!
