In Response To Accusations Of “Kiam Siap-ness”…

Thanks for attending the recent Blogger’s Booze gathering, sponsored by Advertlets. Unfortunately, some of you did not get enough to drink, and being the sponsor for that night, I’m quite sure you were expecting more from us. Well – it came to my attention that some of you had to pay for your own drinks, and this is simply, unacceptable. Most of you came to drink, and of course, it would have been a reasonable expectation that we would foot a big chunk of it.

The Chinese people say that “Kiam-Siapness” is not a good thing, and I whole heartedly agree. We spent a fair sum on the previous Friendster gathering, and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t spend again on one again, especially where people come to paaaarrrrty. From what I recall of that night (yes, I was drinking too, of course), I remember paying quite a few bills over the course of the night, and unfortunately, I must have had missed out some. My apologies if the bills were sent to you by mistake and you got the impression that you had to pay, but this was not the intended outcome, and we did not definitely intend the organizer have to foot the bill either.
