5 Things To Know For Today (3:25 AM, 31 May 2007)

1. If you are thinking which of the Advertlets ad formats to install first, we recommend the Sidebar (165×240) and the Rectangle (336×280) one. Reason being we are currently running the DiGi Fu-Yoh! Street Blast ads network wide for on the Sidebar and Rectangle format - targeted to East Malaysians. That means even if you’re not from East Malaysia (or even from Malaysia), your blog shows relevant ads to your East Malaysian blog visitors, which of course results in you earning

Wah lau! So many people writing Advertlets Reviews!

Hi! This is just to let you know that yes - we have gotten your Advertlets Reviews. We have gotten a LOT over these past few days, hence it might take a while to get back to you and approve your reviews. We aim to give you feedback on your reviews before the end of next week, so do be patient (a lot of the e-mails we get are of the “have you gotten my review?” type).

Just so you know also, your review must be submitted before the end of the month, not approved by the end of the month, in order for you to get paid for the review.

To make it easier for us to approve your reviews, do make sure of the following:

- Let us know that you’ve written a review once you’ve posted it
- Check for spelling and grammar errors
- Include the full URL to the review post on your blog
- Make sure you have filled in your personal particulars and payment details
- There is at least one Advertlets ad code installed on your blog
- If it is a Sidebar ad, please make sure it is installed high enough up the page (visible without scrolling on first load)

And also, to clarify - you can write in either English, Bahasa Malaysia, or Chinese. One review per blogger, not per blog.

Advertlets - Now With 1 Very Good New Way To Earn!

Some of you have been wondering how your earnings are calculated, and how you make money through advertising on your blog. Here’s how it works with Advertlets. There are 3 ways currently:

Network CPC (NEW! - since 24th May 2007)
Various advertisers run their ads, rotated across each blog in our network of nearly 3 million impressions, and pay only for performance. Bloggers get rewarded when quality visits and clicks are sent to the advertiser. Blogger’s demographics statistics play a part in which ads are rotated on their blogs, which is why not everyone gets all the ads available. However, everyone should be getting at least 1 advertisement already. This is great because advertisers are more inclined to pay for performance, and even low traffic bloggers get to earn - and it doesn’t depend so much on their traffic, unlike other blog advertising networks which base your earnings on unique visitors. We can’t guarantee you will earn a lot with a low traffic blog - but we want to make it as easy as possible for you to give it a shot.

In fact, we are now proud to announce ZERO minimum traffic requirements. That’s right, zero. Now everyone can earn! However, we do monitor for fraudulent and strange activity - for example, a blog with 30 unique visitors a day is highly unlikely to generate hundreds of clicks a day. Please keep in mind that your Advertlets account can be suspended or even terminated if you are found to be engaging in click fraud or unethical/artificial traffic generation methods.

If you are not earning, or are confused - please make sure of the following before dropping us a mail to clarify:

- Make sure your account details are fully filled in.
- Make sure that the blog you registered with us is not a “splog” or spam blog, which content contains an overwhelming number of advertisements and paid posts. We manually flag blogs with overwhelming spam, offensive content, pornography, or inflammatory content. We aim to keep it real, fun, and safe.
- Make sure your code is updated. You will need to update ALL your code to the new version, even for the ad formats you previously installed. Also make sure your Sidebar ads are placed sufficiently high up the page (visible without scrolling) for optimum earnings.
- Also note that you might be earning, although you cannot see the ads yourself. Especially if you are a Malaysian overseas or an international users. The majority of our ads are geolocated (targeted to specific countries), and at the moment the bulk of our clients are Malaysian, who choose to advertise only to Malaysian visitors.

*We are currently running a network-wide click/visit verification test, and hence you may not see any updates to your earnings for about 3-5 days. Fradulent clicks are flagged, and only quality visits are counted. After this testing period, you will see real-time/daily updates to your earnings.

Select CPM
Advertisers select particular blogs, based on their preferences and our recommendations. Blogs that are selected will display the particular advertisers ads with much greater frequency, and occasionally, exclusively for the period of the ad campaign. Earnings are calculated based on verified impressions, traffic, and blogger establishment.

Reviews/Blogvertorials
Bloggers apply for new review/blogvertorial opportunities, or are selected by the advertiser. Then, depending on the relevance of their blog to the advertiser, and the establishment of their blog, are given a chance to make a sponsored post, which they will be paid a certain sum for once published and approved by the advertiser.

Advertlets : The New Ad Formats!

The New Ad formats are: Rectangle, In Post & Banner. These icons above show indicators of where the optimum placing is for each type of ad formats.

To install them: Click login, and then enter your username and password. Your user login would have undergone a new look and feel - and a lot of new tabs. You can get the new source code in the “blogs” tab. Make sure you update all your code, including your existing Sidebar ad code.

Sidebar: We understand that some of you who have collected sufficient demographics statistics are looking to only display advertising, and not use the widget. We have a version of the Sidebar ad without the poll as well for you to install.

Banner: This works best at the top of your page, or below your page header, and above your blog posts.

In Post: Like the name implies, this would work best inside blog posts. However, you can choose to fit it anywhere else where it might be appropiate.

Rectangle: We recommend installing these either after your blog posts (before the comments), and also if you have larger sidebar space to utilize, you may install it in your sidebar too.
