Advertlets – New Advertisements Coming This Friday The 13th!

We’re happy to let you know that we’ve confirmed an campaign on the “auspicious” date of Friday the 13th, and are ready to roll – and are just waiting for the final confirmations on the ad artwork from the advertiser. Key bloggers have already been confirmed for our first Sidebar Ad campaign, which will be a Distributed Impressions 1 Month campaign – which means, the ad budget will be distributed throughout the month (with a limit on the times it is shown each day) on selected blogs. That means, only certain slots throughout the month will be taken up by this first advertiser. Fingers crossed, the other 3 we are talking to will be able confirm and launch within the next few weeks as well, so hopefully you will be seeing a rotated assortment of ads coming your way within across mid April and early June. No adjustments to your blog codes are necessary, the system will take care of it.

Some of you have been wondering why we’ve taken a while to come out with our ads or confirm a date. We aim to live up to our philosophy of “targeted, unintrusive advertising” that is beneficial to both the advertisers as well as the bloggers and not short-changing anybody, which is essential to our results driven, long term success and repeat business. We aim to match advertisers with great content, and help bloggers make more money individually, and faster.

We took the time needed to ensure that our blogs have sufficient sample sizes and accurate demographics data (through user submissions on our poll widget) to help ‘instead advertisers better target blog readers of instead of just blindly buying untargeted ads across a large network’, as put succintly in a review of Advertlets by Entrepreneur27.org.

We’re happy that a lot of you have at least 50 poll submissions already, even those who have just joined recently. It tells a lot about your blog audience, and the advertisers we talked to were definitely impressed on how we managed to collect the statistics so quickly.

The other reason was to further test our Malaysian Geolocation engine double checking to make sure that impressions bought by our Malaysian client (with the ISP targeting option), are targeted at Malaysian blog viewers only, translating to higher click throughs for advertisers from consumers who are interested in local services, and not spent on an international audience that is less likely to be interested in the service and won’t click. And importantly, the engine errs on the side of caution if unsure in detecting an ISP – it will not return false positives for Malaysian ISP matches.
