Advertlets Philantrophy Update: New Design for Yvonne Foong, Yvonne’s Book Launch
We’ve recently launched a quick new site design for YvonneFoong.com, with a more informative header and with more prominent calls to action to help people know about her cause better, and lend a hand. Over the next few weeks, we will be implementing further design changes across the site, to communicate the site and her objectives more clearly.
For those of you that do not know, Yvonne Foong is one of the beneficiaries of Advertlets Philantrophy, our program to help worthy causes. Yvonne Foong was only 16 years old when doctors diagnosed her with a rare genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis Type 2. Curious schoolteachers and friends could only observe, as the former ballet dancer, figure skater, karate fighter and Soprano in the school choir suffered sudden health deteriorations that robbed her of her bodily capabilities.
She has tumours in her brain and spine, and as a result, she occasionally has difficulty balancing, cannot hear, and suffers the risk of going blind. Despite all that, she has managed to write a book, win the Dream Malaysia awards for Most Outstanding Youth Of The Year, as well as running her own successful HEART4HOPE program to help raise funds for medical expenses. So far, we at Advertlets have helped to create a design identity for the site, a new header, and are going to launch a philantrophic advertising initiative across our network, where remnant ad space is used to promote Yvonne’s cause.

threesixty° is a beauty campaign organised by a bunch of fun-filled students from the final semester of Diploma in Communication, Taylor’s College. The campaign aims to change the perception of beauty in the mind of individuals in today’s society. So basically we are here to tell you - YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL IN YOUR OWN WAYS! (And you don’t have to look like Beyonce or Angelina Jolie or David Beckham to look beautiful!)
We have organised a series of activities, such as futsal tournament, our launch, workshops, roadshows and last but not least, our True You Ambassador Search, in search of a role model that represents beauty as a whole. The 360° Affair is our final event.
The event is set to be a great blast with an exciting line-up of activities for the night with the appearance of our celebrity spokesperson, Daniel Tan and famed DJ Goldfish. The main highlight will be our True You Ambassador Search. The 5 finalist from the search will give a round of performance, and the winner will be crowned the True You Ambassador of the year, and walk away with RM 2500 worth of cash prizes!
Right after that, DJ Goldfish will be spinning the night on!! There will also be guest performances by stand-up comedians - Big Daddy Zak and Kuah Jenhan, and an animation dance by the Mustang Crew.

Advertlets Security Update: Is Advertlets.com Secure? Hell yeah!
In creating Advertlets, a system to make money through your blog, we were aware that there are definite data privacy and security concerns, especially when it comes to trusting a third party to keep your personal details and password safe. Well, some bloggers did too - and one even went as far as to invite tech savvy members of the public to test the security of our system, and try to exploit any vulnerabilities they might find.
We did not expect this to happen - however, we and our system were not unprepared.

Many Advertlets bloggers of all traffic ranges have applied for the Advertlets review program, wrote your posts and have had your accounts credited with RM50. We even had bloggers blogging about Advertlets in English, Malay & Chinese! Thanks for your great support! This program is still open, and you are welcome to apply until the end of May.
However, some of the higher traffic bloggers felt left out, as they put a lot of effort into building up their blog, and felt they deserved more than RM50 because of their wider audience.
