Club 8
Consisting of vocalist Karolina Komstedt and composer/ multi-instrumentalist Johan AngergÃ¥rd, Club 8 debuted in 1995 upon their departure from Poprace. Intending on creating a sound of delicate, animated pop, the duo quickly released their first single “Me Too” shortly after their formation. Compared to the likes of fellow Swedish residence Cloudberry Jam, The Cardigans and Red Sleeping Beauty, Club 8 continued with their first full-length Nouvelle in 1996. Their second album The Friend I Once Had came out two years later and eventually followed with their first ever live performance in New York City that same year. (from allmusic.com)

Pelle
Pelle Carlberg is a Swedish indie pop singer/songwriter who is accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Henrik Nilsson. He is signed to Twentyseven Records in the United States and Labrador in Sweden. Carlberg grew up in Uppsala, Sweden, and beginning in 1988 played in a string of bands. After studying English at the University of Stockholm, he put together Edson while working at an office job in the late ’90s. The band offered a few recorded efforts until Carlberg, looking for more creative freedom, went solo. He completed two albums: Everything. Now! (October 2005) and In a Nutshell (March 2007). We’ve got great local acts to open the show – in fact, both Couple & Ferns were named as one of the top 25 bands on Myspace by Rolling Stone Magazine.
Couple
One of the few true blue power pop bands in the region, Couple has been plying its trade for about 10 years now, dedicating itself to remind people of the virtues and magic of ‘the song’, and the power of the pop!! Taking cues from bands like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Big Star, The Who, The Raspberries, The Beat, The Rooks, Enuff Znuff and Weezer, Couple has kept on doing what they do best and hope to put a smile (and hopefully a headbang or toe-tap or two) on all youse guys’ faces. But, making you wet your pants will make us equally happy too!!
Singing in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, Couple describes themselves as “happy, clappy and not crappy”.
Others say that they deliver “honest to goodness sunshine pop” and “sinfully addictive tunesâ€.

Ferns
Ferns describe their sound as pop manja, accidentally twee, pastoral pop, a homage to foliage. Declared “one of the 25 best bands on Myspace” by Rolling Stone magazine, Ferns humbly states that they are “a little pop band with big thoughts. Sometimes, we also like to think we rock.” A Swedish music review site says that “if they were swedish, everyone in the indiepop world would love them already.” Ferns has received critical acclaim not only locally, but in the international indie pop scene as well.
