Putting the ‘bling’ in ‘blogging’

Who is Lim Ee-van? Check him out at Incoherent Ramblings, or read on to hear him in his own words!

On a personal level, I’m a proud father to Ryan, my son. I’m a “do the best I can” husband to my lovely wife, Aileen. As for myself, I secretly want to be a world class athelte. I want to race amongst the best and be the best. Since I’m not endowed with “athletic gene” and no one on either family side is any sportmen/women to begin with, I know I have a long way to go before I even come near to represent my Condo in any sports other than eating.

So, I’m still Tri-ing (as in triathlons), Du-ing (as in duathlons), still trying to score a TRY (even when I’ve been playing rugby half my life) and I’m an adventure seeking, adrenaline junkie which will vomit after 2 rides in the Genting Roller Coaster (though I prefer to cycle down Genting any given day), trying to be a doting father and a providing husband all at the same time.

On his humble beginnings as a blogger

I’ve no idea as to why I even blog in the first place. I posted my first blog entry in May 2004. Perhaps it was my narcisist self that subconsciously told my conscious mind to do so. As I’m writing this down, my incoherent mind is still thinking, wandering and wondering as to why I even blog. But I guess it was the urge to write and express myself which has prompted me to do so. Nowadays I mostly blog about my family, my sports and my thoughts.

So, how did you get to know about Advertlets?

I first came upon Advertlets.com from a more famous blog. As I was on a mission to get paid for blogging, I signed up with them, hoping I’ll be a millionaire by the time they move out of Beta stage. I’ve also signed up with other sponsor programs, and sad to say, the cash isn’t that good as it isn’t even enough to pay for my entrance fee to IronMan Langkawi next year; it’s only enough for me to book a no frill air ticket (one way) there to be a spectator at this point of time.

So what are your initial impressions of Advertlets?

So, to my surprise, when I find out that Advertlets.com is actually operated by real humans. You get real replies to all your queries and questions. They see to your needs (just don’t ask them to run your errands) as a blogger. In fact, they care for small time bloggers like me! Imagine, what it could do for you bloggers out there trying to earn some cash while doing things you love. With this attitude, I won’t be surprised if Advertlets.com will be the mainstream blog-vertising network in Malaysia and perhaps, globally with what they could offer both bloggers and advertisers!
