Putting the ‘bling’ in ‘blogging’

Cindy Tey

hotpinkchili.blogspot.com

Cindy’s blog is titled “Pink Label: Malaysia’s Most Picturesque Blog!” and unsurprisingly, has broken the record for most pictures in a single page for a featured blogger on Advertlets.com.

Read (and look on) to get to know Cindy in her own words in both third person as “Miss C”, and in first person as “Jade Zheng”. And why so many names anyway? You’ll find out as you read on!

Miss C 101
A doctor once thought she was only a “grape”, not an embryo. Thank God her mom was in a scintillating wit; she chose to adjourn and gave the “grape” a chance to live.

We start in a small country town where everyone knows everyone in Labis, Johor, where a little girl grew up. She was named Tey Cindy, or Jade Zheng (which also means happy beautiful jade in Mandarin).

The jade grape
At a very young age of 1, her photo was sent to a baby-photo-contest, and that was when she gained her very 1st success in the beauty industry. Her mom, a high school teacher, was pleasantly surprised. Still, no one could have guessed what
lay ahead…

Miss C grew up wearing uncomfortable pink lacey frocks, playing paper dolls, masak-masak using REAL dough (a different color everyday!) which was pressed to her little hands as she waved goodbye to mummy at precisely 6:20 A.M. five times a
week.

She would then be sent to her ama’s house to be taken care of; carrying along her small dolorous face. For some obscure reasons she became dreadfully skinny. After younger brother Eugene was born, Mom quit her job and boney Miss C was taken back home to be well fed, but still she could never swallow her food and spat them down the toilet bowl when no one’s looking. -_____-“

Brother Eugene and Miss C
One day, Mom found a solution! Miss C was given the green light to drink milk from the rubber nipple bottle until she turned 12. Her appetite grew and ballooned her into a Doraemon. A sudden change happened. Cindy sees herself biking, killing bees, tried peeing standing up (for ONCE), collecting Power Rangers masks, fighting… And YES, she grew up with MOSTLY guys, into a lady again.

Dazzling Daze
Having a teacher as a mum wasn’t the easiest thing on earth. However, Miss C didn’t just lock herself up in her room and study all day. She has an inspiration.

Miss C presented a B for physics to her mom (who taught PHYSICS and add math). LOL!

Britney Fever In 1998, the release of Britney Spears’s “…Baby One More Time” music video caught Miss C’s attention. She recorded it on tape and watched it numerous times a day; copying Spear’s singing style and dance moves.

From there, she realized her true love lies in performing and not medicine, thus she continues to pursue her dreams until today. Pictured: Cindy’s original collections of Spears ranging from CDs, books, to fragrances!

Miss C taught “kawad kaki” for St. John for 3 years during her high school days, went for National Service in 2004 as she continues on marching; which she believes became the reason why it is harder for her to master the perfect catwalk.

3 Fat Virgins Unassembled
The next stage was her enrolment in Sunway University College’s School of Performance + Media.

There, she got her Diploma in Performing Arts, and performed in several plays such as Hermia from Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Nights Dream” (2005),”3 Fat Virgins Unassembled” (2006) by Singaporean playwright Ovidia Yu, and also wrote scripts for theater and TV.

Cindy was also a student from Li Wei Song School of Music where she took Vocal Unplugged and dance classes which then helped her won the 1st and 1st runner up prize in a variety game show called “Shout Out! It’s Saturday Night” (2006) aired
on NTV7.

The year before…
In 2007, Cindy Tey furthered her studies to obtain a Degree in Contemporary Arts at the School of Visual & Performing Arts; University of Tasmania, Australia.

There she directed her own play, “Dinner” by Finegan Kruckemeyer, and also acted in a
musical called “Tamar Tidings” on a barge floating along Tamar River.

And in 2008, Cindy The Dreamgirl…

Her recent success was to be the winner in the Malaysian Dreamgirl Online Reality Show, 2008; the first online reality show in Malaysia to enter the Guiness Records Book of Malaysia. History marked on 29th April 2008!

And now…Cindy’s other persona, “Jade Z”…

Jade Z. says “I live life with a humane and humorous approach. I strive to find balance, peace, and harmony in my surroundings. Addicted to perfection, I love it when others hold up beautiful mirrors of society. I would love to believe that no one is evil, be patient, and the good side will surface.”

“Very often, I mistakenly believe that my mission on earth is to set things right. I really detest conflict and will bend over backwards to make others happy or simply instill new hope in lost hearts. Life is too sweet to be bitter, and I’m still learning to truly live every. single. moment. ”

“I love love, beauty and art. I love old, sentimental things and collect objects that touch my heart, and nothing can win my love for the sea, sun, sand, the BEACH!!! I adore the innocence of children and nothing makes my heart happier than
the sound of a child’s laughter! And the only sonance that can make me cry anytime. ”

“Cheers for a victory gained. Live properly, and your dreams will come to you. ”

“Lastly, Advertlets has definitely helped me achieve part of my dreams and allows me to earn some extra income too! So sign up with Advertlets.com today and put the “Bling in your Blog”!!! The biggest regrets are not things you did, but things you didn’t do. Experience is what you get whenyou don’t get what you want. (:”
